Dreams are Important to Teens

Share

People often misinterpret the meaning of dreams, especially teenagers. It is often related to ambition, career life and what you want to be when you grow up, but the fact is, dreams are totally different. Dreams are more like an inspiration, or perhaps a GUIDANCE FOR YOUR AMBITION. Lets take an example of ambition, simply saying "When I grow up, I want to be a computer programmer." Whereas dreams can be, "I wish to be like Bill Gates." See the difference? To summarize it, we can simply say that dreams are more towards your DESIRE, and is not a MUST.

So are dreams are important to teens? Simple, having an ambition alone is not enough. You need to have a dream. Take a simple example. I'm sure every teen has a dream of passing their examinations with flying colors right? Have you ever felt lazy to study, but when suddenly this dream strikes your mind, you get the urge to study? I'm sure most teens have. See how dreams can make a difference?

Now, how to LIVE your dreams? That is actually quite difficult to explain. But try this, every time your dreams pushes you to do something, follow it. Don't IGNORE. Sorry to say, but ignorance is pure dumbness. How can a dream push you to do something? Look back on my example just now, "you get the urge to study." Isn't that something pushing you? It's your dream! Don't ignore it, instead follow the flow. In this case, what you should do is study! Well, I know some teens will say "I hate studying" and stuff, but this is not only applicable to study related stuff. Dreams can cover a very large area.

Teens these days often take for granted the importance of dreams. They tend to forget about it, ignore it, and in the end, they end up being the person they DO NOT want to be. Take for example, a drug addict. Would he be one if he payed attention and focused on his dream of being a good person when he had grown up? If he was forced by friends, he wouldn't have mixed with them if he had a strong foundation of "being that better person." Thus I really feel that teens should not take this for granted, instead, live their dreams to the fullest.
